Girls, the World is yours
Today it is International Women’s Day. A day to celebrate the girl, the woman, the daughter, the sister, the aunt, the mother, the grandmother and the great grandmother. A day to appreciate the wonderful women in our lives, the ones who have gone before us and those who are yet to arrive.
Coming from a large family of strong females Katie and I are very lucky that we are inspired by women on a daily basis and have been throughout our lives. But most of all I must say we inspire and challenge each other, that’s the thing about working with someone who understands where you are coming from and where you want to go.
As young girls we were very different, I was your typical tomboy – I cut off all my hair, loved to be called Harry, dreamed about getting married in my Man Utd kit and I really really wanted to be a member of the Mighty Ducks (kinda still do!). We could not have been more different growing up, Katie would be drawing and colouring whilst I hung upside down from a tree, we were twin girls, sisters who vowed to be different, sisters who wanted to find their own way.
Nowadays, my hair is still short but you can call me Han! We have both been away and lived independently, we have both married (I didn’t wear the Man Utd kit!) and we both have children of our own. Our experiences over the years have allowed us to create Mini Wallers as a brand that is a reflection of who we are – Katie does the drawing and I do the words. We both drink the Gin and have discovered that on trips to London she is definitely the navigator and I’m the driver (the other way round causes lots of swearing and near misses!) Mini Wallers has allowed us to be women, to be sisters, to be mothers and to inspire our daughters to be whatever they want to be.
