The power of mum
We are a powerful bunch us mums. We pick you up when you cry, we are on hand for cwtch’s* whenever you need one (we really need to work on master r’s need for a 3am cwtch!) and we can be your worst enemy and your shoulder to cry on in the space of 10 minutes.
We have loved you since the moment we laid eyes on you, may not have liked you all that much with the onset of reflux and colic tho! (master r…again!) but we would do just about anything in our power to make you happy but to also make you proud of us.
For us to demand pride we must first trust in ourselves – when you become a mother you gain so much, but you also loose a little piece of yourself that can sometimes come back right away or can maybe take a little longer and be a little harder to regain. To feel that pride from our children we need to be proud of ourselves.
We can be proud that on some days all we get round to doing is to wash up one spoon, on others the washing done, been to work, chaired a meeting, held a conference, ran a mile, hell ran 3 miles, done the school run, actually remembered all the PE kit, dinner money and PTFA offerings, made tea, tidied the carnage, survived bedtime, made adult tea, washed up and started work again – with a large glass of vino, and then sleep comes.. but how long?! On some days I forget my children’s names, others I can name the whole blinking class! I am proud to be a mother and even a mediocre one on days!
Mini Wallers was created to inspire adventures, not only for the littles but also for us. Katie and I are living an adventure by building and dreaming all things Mini Wallers – we are proud to be mums at home and mums at work and occasionally mums off duty.
Other Mums bossing this mother maker world are so inspiring right now – we have finally reached a point where there are platforms that create work and friendships as one. A supportive and enriching world to bring Mini Wallers into.
With that in mind we are going all in… these two Welsh ladies are going to the big smoke! Val, Derek, Bruce, Walter, and friends (ooo new stuff!) will be in East Dulwich next week for the Mamahoods Pop Up store celebrating all that is great, powerful and bloody brilliant with Mother Makers. Come in and just see what these mums have been busy doing in between the school runs, nose wipes and bedtime stories.
*cwtch – a lovely Welsh cuddle!
