The Mighty Wallers
Much of our inspiration and motivation comes from the everyday, with this in mind we would like to introduce you to another Mighty Waller. She is very much part of our everyday, she may not live close or be able to pop by for a Gin or two but this Mighty Waller has been a source of inspiration for an awful long time and gives us amazing bragging rights when we go out… You see, how many people can say that their big sister is a professional ballerina?
Thousands of little girls dream the dream of a life on stage dancing to Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty or the Nutracker – my little miss s is one of those very girls. But, for many it is just not a reality and they remain the dreams of a little girl. Not for this Mighty Waller, her Ballet journey began aged 7 and now she lives in Norway and dances everyday. Like many adventures, hers has had lots of twists and turns, ups and downs but it is epic and life changing. At 16 she moved to London to attend the Royal Ballet School – now this may not seem a big deal for some, bear in mind we lived in a small countryside village in South Wales. There was a bus every two hours and the most exciting thing to happen for us kids was the annual Duck Race (FYI still amazing!!) London was not only a long way away in miles but also in every aspect. It was whilst she was in London that she earned top big sis points with regular trips up for us country bumpkins, many a weekend was spent on Oxford Street looking for famous people and marvelling at how people walked so fast all the time! Her hard work and determination meant she graduated from the Royal Ballet School and landed a job in Dresden, Germany. A new move, to a new country, a new language and a new life. She was now a professional ballerina, she was 18 and she had done it. Going to visit the beautiful city of Dresden, like London, was only possible for us because she was there – no pressure to move to a cool city after Dresden then?!
Now a resident of Oslo, Norway and with a career spanning 16 years, she has danced her socks off in the classics, the contemporary and the downright weird. Her adventure has been her world, she is a Mighty Waller because she is our big sister, because we are so so proud of her and for what she has achieved, because she is courageous, strong, beautiful, a little bit crazy, thoughtful, inspiring, enthusiastic, funny and a terrible Gin drinker! Her adventure has allowed all of us as a family to appreciate hard work, to marvel at how the finished piece looks effortless after so much blood sweat and tears – to enjoy a world a million miles away from our everyday.
Our Mighty Waller is Emma, she is our swan. She is fierce, balanced and beautiful, she is a true adventurer and is the inspiration behind all things Swan in the Mini Waller world.
Thanks Em xxx
